Drats! It was already 8am when I woke up. As it was the last day for me at Angkor Wat (going to Phnom Penh the next day), I actually missed the sunrise at Angkor for this visit! :( WHEN CAN I EVER WAKE UP ON TIME?

Plan for day 2 was to cover the remaining temples in Grand Circuit which I didn't managed to cover on day 1. Upon reaching Angkor Wat, I will turn right and head straight for the magical Ta Prohm via Prasat Kravan and Banteay Kdei. After which I will turn back into the Grand Circuit and explore Pre Rup, Ta Som and Preah Neak Pean. It was a huge target, though it is achievable if I follow a tight schedule. Once I have done that, it's back to Siem Reap for an Angkor. *I am a Yuppie*

By the second day, my passion for temples has slowly (but steadily) trickled out. I still enjoy riding around, checking out the sites, but the temples started to look the "same". Thus, I didn't pay attention to the details and spend at most 30mins per site (except for Ta Prohm). Yes, I got "templed" out (a.k.a. temple fatigue).

A memorable incident happened when I was taking pictures at Sra Srang. A young girl came by and asks me to buy a cold drink. As usual, I refused politely. Though she looks disappointed, she asked for my name and gave me a rattan bracelet (for free). I was embarrassed and tried to give her a piece of chocolate which she initially refused (she kept indicating that the bracelet was free). I took my pictures and make my way back. Someone called out my name and I saw a little girl again. I stopped and ended up buying 3 T-Shirts and drinks/beer from her.

I reached the "highlight" of the day when I got to Ta Prohm at 1030hrs. It was in quotes because it was ABSOLUTELY packed with people. Farangs, tourists or whatever. The temple was great, but to actually experience people jumping into your line of sight when you are trying to take a picture sucks big time. But somehow (as I realised), if you are patient and wait till lunch, everybody will be gone (back for lunch) and you will have the entire Ta Prohm to yourself. :)

By first impression, this looks ordinary and no different from other parts of Ta Prohm. But when the local boys offer themselves as guides to tourists, it may be special.

Well, this is the spot where Angelina Jolie picks up the lotus (before dropping into an bottomless pit) in the movie "Tomb Raider". I guess life is not all that bad for a movie star. The Cambodian government even gave her a lifetime honourable citizenship for her work in Khmer Kingdom. I don't mind having that as well.

A couple of Cambodian girls posing for a picture in the temples of Angkor. It's strange because I usually see the Cambodians appearing in the temples during evenings. It was noon at that time.
The wonders of nature; brilliantly magnified by the afternoon sun.
A picture of a cute boy that came chatting up with me while I was hiding away from the hot sun in Pre Rup. He sportingly posed for me and told me later that the chocolate (he was holding it in his hands) was nice.
My original caption was "Fat ass Asian trying to be cool by tempting (with coins) 2 boring young boys into taking pictures.

After some thoughts, I realised I almost fitted into the profile except I was not fat.

Even under the shield of a tree root, tomb raiders still managed to thieve the head away from the stone carving. - Memories of Ta Som
Lunch@Preah Neak Pean. A group of Cambodians were eating lunch of stired fried vegetables and rice. They were all eating from the same plate of rice.

My lunch was fried noodles (instant noodles) with vegetables. USD$1.50.
Under the afternoon sun of Preah Neak Pean. As there was no breeze, it created a beautiful reflection of the ruins.
Nothing much here. Just showing the shades of my arms (due to sun burnt) while I rode the electric bicycle around.
Sunset in Angkor. It's as if the padi fields were smiling at me when I rode past it.
