And so I walked around Pike Place Market and its surrounding blocks. Did a "Been Here Done That" and drank my Starbucks Coffee. Got back to my hotel at 11pm. No surprises this time; I didn't get my directions wrong. It was just time to catch those late night B-grade movies showing exclusively on HBO (try googling "Cathouse" and you know what I mean).

The next few days were plain routine except from having Vietnamese (it was more fusion though) food in the International District and doing some last minute shopping (bought a pair of GAP Jeans, USD$20) in a nearby shopping mall. Apart from exercising extra caution of NOT hitting the big flashing "Buy" button on my hotel TV remote control (oh boy, those pay-per-view programs sure get me high), there was nothing eventful worth mentioning in the blog.

Woke at 5am (21 Jun 07) to get ready for check-out. Got to airport in 10mins (hotel shuttle). My UA flight was on time and I left Seattle in the same way that was "presented" to me; grey and cloudy.
And soon, it was time to hit home, but of course, not before a 12-hour stopover in San Francisco.

Although this is only my second visit to USA, San Francisco International Airport (or SFO) was pretty much a familiar sight (since I had entered and exited USA through here both times). Found the airport left-baggage service and deposited my baggage for USD$10/day. The guy wrote down my flight number on the receipt after I told him what airline I was flying with. I thought it was pretty amazing. He replied causally, "We tend to remember those major flights."

Moved along to the SFO BART (or Bay Area Rapid Transit) station and got my ticket. My next destination was "Montgomery Street"; this is where MY real San Francisco begins.

An Apple (from the Washington State) keeps the doctor away!?!

They were so sweet and crunchy that I had one everyday (complimentary from the hotel reception). Strange that it didn't managed to keep the doctor away; I was practically coughing my lungs out every evening.

Lunch was done in a Mexican restaurant at a nearby town called South Park (it was a Latin America neighbourhood); a Burrito (ground beef wrapped in a tortilla) with rice and some bean sauce. Damage was USD$7.90 but I had tasted the BEST Jalapenos (hot chilli peppers), Nachos and Salsa that I ever had!

I didn't see Kenny though. :(

Hail The Bathtub!! Raise some eyebrows!!

Classic shot of my very first Bart ticket (USD$5.15) and an approaching train.

San Francisco, here I come! - SFO Bart Station
Junction of Sutter Street and Montgomery Street. I felt so small as the buildings seems so gigantic.
A signboard bearing Chinese characters and a wall with graffiti. - First impressions of Chinatown, San Francisco.
Just an ordinary shop in Chinatown. However, they were selling mooncakes and other Chinese pastries and that reminded me of home.

If you read the road sign (bearing the Chinese characters) together with the sign in the background, it will read Tang Ren Jie (Chinatown) of America.
Just a kung-fu studio in San Francisco. Bring on the "Bruce Lees" and "Jacky Chans"!
