Our room (they called it a "Garden View" room) was located at the corner and thus the balcony was larger than the normal rooms. Affluent Sillyporeans would find the promotional room rate of Rm230/S$100 value for money with this kind of quality. But because the Swiss Garden Resort & Spa was in the list of accommodation under my company's staff welfare scheme, I get to claim further S$50 for a night stay. Perhaps I should had taken leave and stay for another night.

Took a nap with Sara on the comfortable bed and woke up feeling all hungry. I did not really want to spend another Rm20/S$8.70 eating a bowl of beef noodles (it was not something to die for and the quantity was miserable) in the hotel's cafe. Thus, we ventured out and found a seafood restaurant (it was more of a warung-styled eatery) just 10mins walk up north along Jalan Beserah. No prizes for guessing what will happen if one put 2 hungry pigs and an inexpensive menu together. We ended up having 6 dishes on the table and it costs us only Rm27.50/S$12. The rest of the evening was spent walking along Balok Beach to exercise all the calories off.

Sara woke me up at 6.45am and we went to view the sunrise before having our complimentary breakfast. Apart from sharing the beach with a big bunch of people (they were all enjoying the sunrise), the rest of the stay here was uneventful. Did the usual check-out a 12noon and took a taxi back to Kuantan. Took Sara to the Central Market (beside Terminal Makmur) and ate noodles for lunch before we boarded our bus back to Johor Bahru at 4pm. There were nothing much significant from that point onwards and we reach Sillypore at 11pm.

On hindsight, the holiday was probably too short and I got hit really hard by the Sunday night syndrome. Felt really shitty when the bus got stuck in a traffic jam in the outskirts of Johor Bahru. Getting back to Sillypore sucks; perhaps the dreadful office had taken a toll on me. As my bus crossed over the causeway, I wonder when will all this end. It must be soon, somehow (I hope).

Sara posing with our dinner (Tom Yam soup, squid, prawns, cockles, vegetables, rice, bee-hoon and ice-milo).

Although I was not exactly sure what kind of steam fish Siakap Steam Limau is, I should had ordered one to try as it looked so fresh on one of the pictures hung on the wall. Does anyone knows how does this taste like?

This is us on the bed of our room (with a little help from the camera timer function); I sometimes wish that time can stop at that moment.
Sara and the rising sun along Balok Beach over the South China Sea.
Thought this was another good photograph taken; a group of friends were doing exercise by the sea.
Sara seems to be in a state of shock as I shouted her name while she was looking for seashells.
If you look carefully, you can see the morning sun glowing on Sara's face.
We were at the resort lobby. I was holding on to my last bottle of beer.

Sara and her lunch of roast duck noodles (Rm3.50/S$1.52 per plate) at the Central Market.

p.s.: The man in the background was trying to finish his noodles in one gulp!
The noodles hawker probably did not score full marks in terms of hygiene; he left the partially cooked noodles in open-air!
