Our
legs were very sore after we reach Chow Kit. Rode the monorail
back to Bukit Bintang and took a nap for 2 hours. Never
in my civilian life (Route march aside) which I walked till
my whole leg (including the thigh) was aching. We were hungry,
but fatigue overcame us and we gave up the idea of checking
out the dark alleys of Chow Kit. We didn't managed to go
Kampung Bahru too. :(
We
woke up to find Jalan Alor (just beside our hotel) to be
filled with night food stalls which during the day seems
like a quiet deserted street. We were hungry but could not
eat that much as our legs had not recovered yet. We subsequently
went for a feet massage (Rm25 for 30mins), not very cheap,
but no doubt did wonders to our tiny walking machines.
We
slept until 9am and woke up with a shock after we realised
we were on HOLIDAY and will be such a waste to sleep it
through. Planned a whole series of activities, mainly shopping
and eating. Some were fruitful, some were not. Then again,
no one can always win right?
KL
continues to fascinate us. |

Chow
Kit market. Forgive me for being ignorant but I have never
walked in such a giantic market before. It took us 15 minutes
to walk from Stall A to Stall Z (imagine stalls A to Z in
a straight line setup). It sold everything from fish and
meat to vegetables and fruits. Took a picture of Bb when
we were walking and we can see Pa Tai (smelly bean) on the
right background. I love the beans when my mum cooked it
with Sambal and your pee will smell of them next morning
as it "removes" the poison. |

The "what
are you staring at?!" photo. Me eating the famous "Fu
Jian Chao" (a.k.a Hokkien Mee or Orh mee) at Jalan
Alor, Bukit Bintang area. It is fried noodles with meat,
squid, lard and LOTS of soya sauce. It was so dark and salty
till you may not even realised if a dead rat was added!
The fame of this dish certainly never amazed me. Perhaps
it was because I didn't eat this in Jalan Petaling, Chinatown. |

Not sure
whether it is the first time Bb (my ex) do the Lock Lock thinge
before. She is seen holding a skewer of Kerang or cockles.
Basically, it is all sorts of food on skewers that is cooked
in a small pot of boiling water (see bottom of picture)
and it came with different sauces (sweet sauce, satay sauce
and chilli sauces). I tried the other variation in Melaka
which the boiling water was subsituted with boiling Satay
Sauce. |

Bb (my ex) at
BB (Bukit Bintang) plaza. It is just like the Orchard Road
in Singapore, filled with street side cafes, night hawker
stalls, hotels and massage palours. |
 |
Lazy Bb (my ex)
seen here brushing teeth on her bed. I woke her up at 9am
and she was still very blur. The classic example of the
Sunlight is shining on one's back. |
 |
Bb (my ex) read
this from a Straits Times article on a famous Fish Ball
noodle (Rm3.50 a bowl) stall (Chua Brothers) and we went
there for breakfast as it was very near to our hotel. The
owners made their own fishballs and you can taste the difference
when you sunk a bite into one. |

View of
KL city from hotel room. The twin towers in a distance.
The Sepia background gave it a sleepy look.Took this while
was shopping in Sungei Wang. I was really too sleepy to
walk. |
 |
Pp and
Bb (my ex) at Ampang Star Rail Station. We took a train to Ampang
hoping to find the famous Ampang Yong Tow Hoo. It was bloody
hot weather but we still didn't find it after going to Ampang
Plaza and surroundings. We were idiots who didn't do their
homework and wasted an afternoon. Had some Kueh Tutu (Rm1
for 3) as consolation. Not too bad. |
 |
Outside
Masjid Jamek. We know that it is an important part of KL
city but we couldn't enter because we did not wear long
pants and Bb had no scarf/Tudung to cover up herself. |
 |
Back to
Jalan Petaling, a tale of 2 road signs and the famous Tapoica
Street. It was Saturday evening and you can see the crowd
building in the main street. Need to do a tourist picture
before we go home. |
