After the wonderful Lan Tau Island and Yuen Lang, the next destination will be the north, Sha Tin and Shenzhen. Sha Tin race course came into the picture but due to time constraints, we had to give it a miss. But we went to the Ten Thousand Monastery and it was worth a visit. This was a heartland monastery that is off the beaten track (unlike Precious Lotus Temple).

Off to Shenzhen, special economic zone. We are officially in Mainland China! It seems to be a wonderful booming city but I felt it was a poor border town that has reached puberty too early. No offence but it really hurts when I see vagrants waiting for people to ask for a good shoe shine. Also saw a young woman carrying a baby eating from a rubbish bin. The stories didn't help. Fake roast geese made from ill animals, fake currencies and scams. Overall demoralizing except from a RMB10 hair wash which was good.

It was over before we knew it. When we board the plane back home, thoughts of work dreaded me. Somehow, life should not be in this way. Am I simply out of sync??

If you have managed to come here, you are fated to be here. How true this is. Was just flipping through my Lonely Planet Hong Kong and saw this temple while I was doing my poo rounds (grins). if I didn't managed to flip to that chapter, we would have never came here. This signage appears at the entrance and caught my eye immediately. Sha Tin Ten Thousand Monastry. It appears behind of a HK$5 note.
Mum at the entrance of the temple. We were the second and third vsitor as the gate was only half opened.
Peace to the world, the buddha overviews Shat Tin. One of my favourite photographs. Destined to be the wallpaper of my PC.
The actual corpse of the founder was left in the main hall, though it was covered with a mask. Quite common to see this in Thailand but not in Singapore.
Tim Sum at Sha Tin Plaza. Our very first! Only HK$51. When we went in, the whole place was filled with grandpas and grandmas. I suppose it was due to Monday morning. They dont charge tea.
Lunch in ShenZhen. We walked in because it looks clean and it was called Hainan cafe. Mum enjoying Roast Goose Rice in Shenzhen, quite a big portion. I didnt. HK$22.
Toilet Signage in Victoria Harbour. You said you want a Revolution!
Remember this in Hongkong movies? Stalls selling Sweet Potatoes. We got one@HK10. Mum said the sweet potato was spolit and not edible.
Just before we leave Hotel Kimberly. The room was pretty small. Timer function.
At HKIA. Mum checking out our precious Lou Po Biscuit. Very nice terminal building. Changi has got a fight on her hands.
