After Mae Salong, we went back to Chiang Rai city for a rest before handing back to Bangkok. Chiang Rai City was ok, I been there 5 years ago and nothing much have changed. It's a quiet city and we did the usual stuff, went around eating the food we missed (roast duck/roast pork) rice, banana roti prata and my favourite Kway Teow Soup (I had 2 servings). Just like somebody who has returned to a city that he has visited long time ago. After all, Chiang Rai was the first city which I started traveling in 1999.

After a night in Chiang rai, we took an airasia flight back to busy and rainy Bangkok. We checked in into Baiyoke Suite Hotel and wondered around in Bangkok. Although it is a busy city, underneath it is a city filled with dreams. People from all walks of life trying to make it with whatever opportunities he/she was presented.

As of all trips, the last night always feels strange. The feeling of going home, back to work and dread. The feeling of going home, always so wonderful, back to my bed, my favourite food and the various familiarities.

Bb (my ex) posing with Chiang Rai City map. Only tourists have these fringe benefits.
5 years ago, we ate in this very store and came back lingering for its roast pork. 5 years later, we came back to this shop again and the owner has not changed. We had the same roast pork rice immediately. Delicious! A plate at 35B.
Bb (my ex), as always, willing to pose for a shot at Chiang Rai Airport.
In Baiyoke Suite (1640B/nite), Bb (my ex) enjoying a glass of complimentary coffee. It's been a while since we stated in a hotel.
Bb (my ex) on Bangkok's City Rail. Locals were staring at 2 idiots taking photographs at such an uninteresting location.
Bb (my ex) and Pp having a steamboat dinner in Bangkok. Amazingly cheap, 79B/person (that's about $4 per person). It even served salmon. The food was VERY salty, but good way to end one's night in Bangkok.
Just before we checked out the hotel. Bb (my ex) and Pp taking a picture using the ever-reliable timer function.
Just across the road of the airport. There is a small market and we went to buy bak hoo (pork floss) biscuits. We went around the market and cant find it till the very last moment. We almost gave it up.
Bb (my ex) posing in front of an AirAsia plane. There's was quite a strong wind.
Notice the distinct background made up of 2 set of buildings. Actually this has nothing to do with Thailand. This was taken on a saturday afternoon in a Pie shop. We were eating a Chicken pie and sipping Coke. Bb (my ex) reading Lonely Planet and we dreaming on what to do on our next trip.
