As mentioned previously, Bangalore (a.k.a. India's City of Parks) has many parks scattered around the city and the two largest are Cubbon Park and Lalbagh Park. One of my Sundays was spent walking around Cubbon Park taking photographs. Many families or couples were out relaxing on the grass patches. This reminded me of how the Indian workers in Sillypore spend their weekends; hanging around in parks with their home-cooked food and bottles of beer.
My walking trip usually ends up in MG Road; usually running into the supermarket for a cold can of Kingfisher (Rs31 or S$1.19). For the new breed IT generation (or commonly termed as Techies), this is the main area where they can hang out and had a cup of gourmet coffee at Cafe Coffee Day (something like Starbucks). MG Road is a major shopping/dining district in Bangalore where you can get international brands (e.g. Levis, Adidias) and expensive touristy ornamental items like a silk kurta or a sandalwood sculpture of Lord Ganesh.
One item that I definitely missed while in Bangalore is seafood; though I am not stating there is none. Due to its geographical location (Bangalore is inland unlike Sillypore), reasonably priced (and fresh) seafood is not readily available. One will either have to visit up-end restaurants to enjoy fresh seafood or do self-catering by making a trip to the local market. |

Saw a girl eating lunch on the 2nd floor of a buidling that is still under construction. She gave me a curious look while I was taking this picture.
p.s.: I often see people or families staying in buildings under construction. Reckon that they might be involved in the construction.

An interesting angle of a movie poster. Hindi cinemas plays a huge part in the life of Indians.

The Buddha in Bangalore.
I finally found the Maha Bodhi Society after 4 weeks of searching. The buddhist establishment, located at Kalidasa Road (Gandhi Nagar) seems to be the only buddhist society in Bangalore.
p.s.: Actually came quite close to this location when I was in town on the second week but I missed it completely. |

The silhouette of the Bodhi leaf brings me peace and serenity during a much deserved break.

More Kannada (one of the native languages used in Karnataka) movie banners as a man walks past a quiet street. |

Couples enjoying a wonderful afternoon in Cubbon Park, Bangalore.
I always wondered what is so fun about group dating. |

wyattwang.com doing it in front of State Central Library in Cubbon Park.
p.s. : No offense but it wasn't easy to find a place to do a wyattwang pose without getting blank stares from people nearby. |

Photography is not allowed on lawns. Or at least that is what the sign is trying to say. |

Saw this girl playing with the railings (while her mother shouts hysterically) along Dr Ambedkar Road (near Vidhana Soudha). |

The 3 lions of Vidhana Soudha - this building houses the secretariat and the state legislature of Karnataka. |
